EAA Airventure Oshkosh is the world’s largest gathering of airplanes and airplane enthusiasts. This EAA (short for Experimental Aircraft Association) aviation event began in 1953 as a humble subsection of the larger but now defunct Milwaukee Air Pageant. From that small presentation, the EAA Airventure Oshkosh aviation event grew too large for its limited trappings, and moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The event now hosts over 10,000 planes and 500,000 aviation fans annually and brings in north of $100 million to the local economy each year. This year Oshkosh hosted over 550,000 people, with occupations ranging from airplane manufacturers to the armed services. Those 550,000 people came from 80 different countries to appreciate the strength, utility, and beautiful efficiency of aviation design. The URB-E is made from carbon fiber and the same aircraft-grade aluminum that keeps people safe in the sky, making it lightweight, ultra portable, and durable. This seated electric scooter can fold to fit in incredibly tight spaces and unfold to carry you up to 20 miles whenever you're ready to roll. So whether you’re putting it in the trunk of your car or the passenger seat of a small aircraft, the URB-E lives up to just about anyone’s lifestyle. URB-E spent the last week of July in Oshkosh presenting to attendees of this year's EAA event. When aviation enthusiasts need to get to or from their plane, they’re usually stuck going across a lonely tarmac by foot or waiting for someone to pick them up. And for someone who just flew their own plane hundreds or thousands of miles, doesn't it seem absurd to wait around after landing in order to get to your destination? With an URB-E, pilots can ride to and from their planes on a seated electric scooter that lives up to their standards of durability and comfort. URB-E gratefully arrived on the heels of great press: General Aviation News announced URB-E’s arrival ahead of the festival, and URB-E was included in the Aero-News Network’s pre-EAA video series. The press buildup to URB-E’s showing at EAA Airventure gained URB-E visibility in Oshkosh, and gave the team some momentum heading into the airshow. Our field marketing team wants to give a special thanks to AKG and their wonderful team, and to Mark Shepard for bringing us all together. Our team was there to answer questions about the URB-E during the AKG booth's URB-E sweepstakes, and we're happy to congratulate one lucky AKG customer on winning a free Black Label URB-E! And it wasn't just the visitors to Oshkosh who were able to share in the fun in 2016. EAA states that over 35 million people saw social media postings about this year's event, and there were more than 7 million views of EAA's photo uploads. EAA Oshkosh Airventure 2016 was a global phenomenon, and the URB-E offered an innovative last-mile solution to attendees of the event. If you would like to find out more about the URB-E and see why it's the personal electronic vehicle for you, you can either check out our shop, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or give us a call at (626)460-8113. We hope to talk with you soon!
