  • URB-E and USC’s partnership will offer exclusive benefits for students and faculty, like URB-E Share and LA Metro and Metrolink passes. Financing through USC Credit Union will soon be available
  • URB-E aims to reduce campus and downtown traffic with fast and portable electric transportation
  • URB-E at USC Village will offer both a retail center as well as a mobility hub for students, faculty and community members
PASADENA, California (August 15, 2017) – Today, URB-E, the world’s first foldable electric vehicle, opens a new retail location in the heart of downtown Los Angeles at USC Village. Marking its second L.A. storefront, URB-E at USC Village is a retail center as well as a mobility hub for students and faculty. The store will also service the greater downtown L.A. community. A two-time Best of CES award winner, URB-E is transforming the way people experience short distance travel. Lightweight and portable, its models have a 16-20 mile range, recharge in a standard wall outlet, and feature a removable battery capable of charging all your mobile devices, including your laptop. Its modular design allows riders to take their URB-E wherever they go – from the train to dorm room, the closet to the trunk, and more. “A college campus like USC is an ideal location for URB-E to expand its retail footprint. USC represents a micro city with similar transportation issues that urban communities around the country face,” said Peter Lee, CEO of URB-E. “URB-E fills the gap where ride and bike sharing services have fallen short. With approximately 70,000 students and faculty and only 9,000 parking spots on campus, USC Village represents a use case that we can replicate at other college campuses and urban environments.” Unique to the downtown location, URB-E will offer a share program for USC students and faculty. Called URB-E Share, the program allows access to URB-Es for a day, week or month at a time. In addition, the mobility hub will offer promotions with Enterprise car rental and LA Metro and Metrolink. “With traffic at an all-time high and public transportation readily available but not always accessible, URB-E’s mobility hub at USC will help us connect our campus with the entire city,” said Tony Mazza, Director of Transportation at USC.
